How to Password Protect your Search History - Tech IT

We all care about our data privacy. We all want our data to be safe and private to us, no one should get access to it easily. We do various things online, searching on google, YouTube, searching location on map and so on. All these search data or search history gets saved on google's database under our Gmail and if anyone gets access to our Gmail account then he/she can easily go through our search history and we might not like anyone else going through our search history.

In order to protect our search history and keep all our secrets alive we must change some settings from Gmail account so that if anyone wants to see/read/modify or search history results then he/she must have to go through some authorization process and make them authorized.

How to Password Protect your Search History?

Google has smartly added a feature to lock search history results. You just need to follow steps given below to lock search history and take your privacy to a level above.

Step 1 : Go to myactivity.google.com 

Open your favorite web browser and just type www.myactivity.google.com and hit enter, or just click here.

Step 2 : Click on manage my activity verification

After you have opened myactivity page on your device, you have to click on Manage my Activity verification as shown in image below.

Step 3 : Select Require extra verification

After you have clicked on manage my activity verification, a pop up will appear which has 2 options, Require Extra Verification and Don't require extra verification. From these, just select Require verification.

After you have selected Require extra verification, process to password protect your Search History is complete.

Now, you can reopen myactivity.google.com and it will ask you to fill correct password in order for you to open this page and see/read/modify search history. So, you have successfully put a password protection to your search history.
